4th Grade and D4/5 Visiting the State Capitol on Fieldwork this Week

News from Ms. Trena:

Dear Renaissance Families,

As we approach Thanksgiving break, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible community we share at Renaissance Elementary Magnet School.

Every day, I am grateful for our amazing students, whose curiosity and enthusiasm light up our classrooms. Our dedicated teachers and staff continually go above and beyond to nurture each child's potential, and our families play a vital role in making our school such a warm, supportive place to learn and grow.

Thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and trust. Wishing you all a season filled with warmth, joy, and togetherness. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. We are Crew!

With immense gratitude,

News from Our Crews:

4th Grade & D4/5:
We experienced a blast from the past as we explored Colorado's dynamic past. We experienced what life was like on the high plains in the early 1900's and during the Dust Bowl. Also, we examined artifacts from the Ute tribe and learned about the history of the Ute tribe in Colorado. Finally, we took a walk in the day of a Colorado representative as we got a glimpse inside the state Capitol. The 360 degree view from the dome of the state Capitol amazed all students and they couldn't believe the dome is made up of 4 pounds of gold.

Ms. Julie- 2nd Grade:
2nd Graders in Ms. Julie's crew got to learn about money from Zach, a former student of Ms. Julie. This was Zach's 5th time presenting to 2nd grade on this topic! It was a great way for students to learn some cool things about money from another student!

Ms. Mikaela- 1st Grade:
Climb Week was a blast! Students stretched out of their comfort zones in the gym. Look at all the different ways they can climb!

3rd Grade Crews:
In third grade, families were invited to a Celebration of Learning to share what they have learned about multiple perspectives and Colorado history in the 1800s. The Celebration included a poetry reading and art gallery.

Ms. Staci collaborated with this expedition, and in the art room, students learned how to make collages, transfer images, and use art as a tool to reflect on expeditionary learning. At the Celebration of Learning, third graders were excited to share their art and learning.

Ms. Erin- Library:
This week we dove into some great books at the REMS Book Fair! What a successful week of reading and supporting our school library and our community. A huge thank you to all our "fin-tastic" volunteers. Books open an ocean of possibilities!

Thank You Parent Crew!
Thank you to our Parent Crew for providing teachers and staff with delicious coffee from Coffee Sarap for teacher appreciation!
