Dear REMS Families,
We have such an amazing week at REMS! Students worked really hard over the last two weeks to complete their mid-year iReady assessments. I have heard so many stories of students persevering when the challenges got difficult to overcome and show such incredible growth! Please celebrate your child and their teachers for such commendable work!
Congratulations to Carter Payne (6th grade) for winning the Renaissance Spelling Beat this Wednesday! We are so proud of all of our spellers who participated in the Spelling Beat as well as Ms. Jena, Ms. JoAnna, and Ms. Liesl for their efforts. Best of luck at the DCSD Spelling Bee, Carter!
Winter Performance - Save the Date: Wednesday, December 20th
Our Primary and Intermediate Winter Performances will be held on Wednesday, December 20th in the Gym. Primary (K-3) will begin at 9AM and Intermediate (4-6) will begin at 9:45AM. Due to limited space, we kindly request that you plan to attend only the performance in which your child is starring. We hope to see you there!
Community Challenge:
I am asking as a REMS community that we support our staff this holiday season with a challenge... I will be challenging staff to turn their vacation settings on their emails over the holidays and to remove their school email from their phones to be conscious about being present with their own families. I ask our families to make a conscious effort to refrain from emailing staff until Winter Break has concluded on January 8, 2024. I sincerely appreciate your willingness to allow our staff a restful break with their families to rejuvenate for the new year. Thank you.
NEW! News from our Crews:
Our 4th-6th graders have been practicing their spelling skills and had the opportunity to compete in the REMS Annual Spelling Beat. Congratulations to all the participants and finalists.
Sparkles the Elf is visiting crews that are exhibiting our core values. Ms. Mikaela's and Ms. Julie's crew earned a visit this week for showing PERSEVERANCE on their iReady testing.
Ms. Bethany's crew practiced their bike skills.

We have all sorts of fun planned for our auction! Such as: the Wine Wall!
We need 100 bottles of wine for our wine-wall game. Please donate nice wines to our auction. These count for tax deductions, and volunteer hours! Bottles can be dropped off in the front office. Thank you!

Calling all REMS Families! After a successful Alaskan Fundraising Cruise this past summer, we are doing it again, this time to the Caribbean! Sailing June 23-29th, 2024 from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, sail with our REMS Crew to Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk and Amber Cove aboard the Carnival Vista while raising money for our school.
