Dear REMS Families, 

We have so much gratitude for our students, staff and families!  REMS was abuzz with an abundance of happy activity this week.  Many thanks to all those who assisted with our Scholastic Book Fair, belaying, 2nd grade's Beat, Family Night, and a successful Spirit Week.  I loved seeing all of our students dress in the most creative Toy Story gear, especially while navigating climbing! 

As we gear up for the rest of the first semester,  I want to pause to take a moment to offer some gratitude.  Thank you to our teachers and staff for their unrelenting service to educating and loving our students every day.  Many thanks to our families for your countless hours of volunteering and commitment to our school.  Together, we are creating a thriving culture of Crew where true belonging is present,  students feel safe and loved, and our staff feel trusted and valued for their service.  The momentum of our unity is so powerful! 

I wish you and your family a wonderful time together this Thanksgiving.  May your holiday be filled with gratitude and peace.

Holiday Giving - Donations Needed
We need your wrapping paper and wrapping supplies for Ms. Allison‘s Holiday Giving! Please drop off any rolls of wrapping paper, scotch tape, and tissue paper to the drop-off box at the front door. Our favorite are the self-adhesive gift bags from Amazon for odd-shaped items! Thank you so much for helping us make our community feel loved this holiday season!

Gear Swap Coming Soon: donate gently used gear today!
The Renaissance Gear Swap is a community tradition to help make our Outdoor Education program accessible to all! Please donate your gently used, outgrown voyage gear (fleece/synthetic clothes, waterproof hiking boots & snow gear, wool, socks, sleeping bags, backpacks, etc...) and then come by during the Gear Swap to pick up any items your students might need!

2nd Annual REMS Family Cruise Fundraiser
Calling all REMS Families! After a successful Alaskan Fundraising Cruise this past summer, we are doing it again, this time to the Caribbean! Sailing June 23-29th, 2024 from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, sail with our REMS Crew to Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk and Amber Cove aboard the Carnival Vista while raising money for our school. Important  Dates: NEW!  A Note from Ms. Trena: Dear REMS Parents,  It was a privilege to celebrate our Visual Arts students this week at R enaissance . We packed the house on Wednesday evening for our annual  REMS Art Walk.  I appreciated seeing so many families come out to celebrate our students and  the many talents of  Ms. Staci  in fostering  students'  creative passions!  I also hope that you all had the opportunity to go out and visit the  Legacy Campus  this week to see our student's artwork on display at the DCSD Art Show. Our students truly represented CREW in their reflective pieces of our core values!  Will P. won Best in Show for Grades 4th-6th Ollie R. won 3rd place for Grades K-3rd Olivia S. received an Honorable Mention for Grades K-3rd  National Archery Shoutouts: Beau B. and Khaison B. competed in the National Archery Tournament in Utah last weekend.
