Bond Mill Levy Override News!
This past Tuesday the Board of Education voted unanimously to place a $60M Mill Levy Override and $450M Bond on the November 2022 ballot. If passed by voters, an MLO would enable DCSD to provide pay that is more competitive with other school districts to retain teachers and staff. Should an MLO pass, DCSD teachers, on average, would receive a 9% pay increase, as reflected in these salary schedules. Classified staff members, such as bus drivers, educational assistants, custodians, etc., would receive a 9% increase. Other staff, including school principals and administrators, would receive a 6% pay increase. A $450 million Bond would help DCSD construct three new neighborhood elementary schools and create additions to two existing middle schools to reduce crowding and plan for growth.
If your child is interested in participating in Battle of the Books there will be a mandatory parent information meeting after school on October 4th in the library. Practices will be Thursdays after school from 4-5pm this year beginning with the first practice on October 27, 2022. Battles will begin at the local library the week of January 23, 2023.
NEW! A Note from the Front Office:
Beyblades on Campus:
In order to keep your Beyblades in top condition and ensure that they are not lost on the playground, please refrain from bringing them to school. Many friends have mourned the loss of their favorites. Don't let this happen to you! Keep them safe at home.
Visitors in the Carline:
If you are having someone new drop off or pick up your student from school, please make sure they know the rules of the Kiss & Go line. It is helpful to have cars lined up all the way from the top of the hill to the corner so we can have maximum unloading/loading opportunities. When visitors refuse to move up their cars, it slows everyone else down.
- Please remember to call our attendance line at (303) 387-8002 when your students are going to be absent.
