~FridayFeel-good Friday- offer your favorite staff member a gift of wellness (pampering, plants, flowers, favorite book, etc...) 😎

Auction Update:
Thank you for making our 11th Annual REMS Auction a smashing success! From your donations, we raised $67,000 for our Adventure Education program! We are so grateful for such a supportive community.  A special heartfelt thank you to our co-chairs, Erin Kristensen and Colleen Scarola for a wonderful event!

Showcase of Learning:
Showcases of Learning will be held on May 11th for 3rd grade and May 25th for 6th grade from 1:15-4:15pm.  We would love to invite our parents and community members to volunteer as panelists.   Please feel free to use the Sign-up Genius to commit to a spot! We will be reaching out to those who volunteer on next steps.  Remember that parents should refrain from volunteering at your own child's showcase.

Student-led Conferences:
Student-led Conferences will be held on Wednesday, May 18th in Grades 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades to share their learning and celebration for the year.  Kindergarten will hold their conferences on May 31st.
Classroom teachers will be reaching out to families to schedule times to meet with students/families.  The Showcase of Learning for 3rd and 6th grades will serve as their individual student-led conference.

Class Lists for 2022-23
Teachers, Specialists and Administration will be creating class lists for the upcoming 2022-23 school year. We make many considerations such as academics, social/emotional needs, leadership, behavior, and personality of students and teachers to ensure proper placement. It is also a challenge to mix the kids up from year to year as we only have two classes of each grade level.

If you have programming needs (IEP, 504, GT, etc...) that you wish to bring to our attention, we ask that you email those to their teacher and myself.  Please refrain from requesting a particular teacher and instead offer us specific information about your student that will help us with placement.

News from Our Crews:

The Eco-Warriors built and run a community seed swap.  These stands house seeds for the taking or you may drop off unused seeds that you would like to share.  We would appreciate it if you would leave a donation in the "donation can" or drop it by the front office. All funds collected are used to support sustainability initiatives. The stands will be out front of the building during morning drop-off and dismissal (depending on weather).

Also coming soon...the Eco-Warriors will have a plant sale, at dismissal, in the coming weeks (exact dates are TBD depending on the success of the seed starters). A huge shout-out and thank you to Ms. Marla and our community partners at CALF's Lowell Ranch.

News from SAC:

Join the School Accountability Committee (SAC)! What's the difference between Parent Crew Board and SAC?  While Parent Crew helps with fundraising and support of many of the REMS 'extras', the SAC advises on many of the specific operational decisions here at REMS, including Academic Performance and Safety issues! To learn more or nominate yourself, email: RemsSacChair@gmail.com.  Nominations are open through May 7th.

News from our Parent Crew:

Community Involvement Opportunities!:
Registration is now open for Stone Canyon Summer Camp! Both Overnight and Day Camps are accepting registrants.

Stone Canyon offers a wide variety of activities, and our dedicated staff is committed to ensuring your camper will learn new skills, make new friends, and be safe while at camp. Our goal is to create a community that will help campers become more confident and daring individuals, all while having the best time of their lives!

In the last year and a half, Stone Canyon has built a brand new ropes course and completed an expansion of our dining hall and kitchen. We are so excited for campers to experience them this summer. While we have made adjustments to our programming to follow national and local COVID mitigation guidelines, we aim to provide the same connection and adventure that make our summer camp special.
