NEW! A Note From Ms. Trena:

Dear REMS Parents,  

We are so excited for the upcoming 11th annual REMS Auction on Saturday, April 23rd at Cielo!  This is a wonderful opportunity for us to connect, build community, and raise funds and awareness for Adventure Education and Expeditionary Learning.  This fundraising is essential to our unique programming and continues to foster our spirit of adventure. 

Here are just a few examples of how your donations and fundraising have and will continue to contribute to our school's community: 

  • Adventure Education programming and training for our teachers 
  • Adventure Education/Recess staffing 
  • Expeditionary Learning professional development 
  • Transportation for our Voyages K-6th grades
  • Student fieldwork in K-6
  • Playground and Outdoor Learning Environment maintenance and beautification

NEW! News from Ms. Abbie's Crew:
Ms. Abbie's crew will be hosting next week's Beat about Earth Day. They've come up with a fun week-long challenge to show little ways we can help the Earth every day.

April 18th: Meatless Monday

Today your challenge is to not eat meat, produce no food waste, and use reusable silverware.

April 19th: Light free Tuesday
Today your challenge is to leave your lights off for one day. 

April 20: Walk to School Wednesday

Today your challenge is to walk, bike, or carpool to school.

April 21st: Clothes Donation and Litter Pick-up Thursday

Our challenge is to donate clothes and shoes to get as many trees planted as possible.

Wish Week: Earth Day Celebration! 

Renaissance is excited to partner with RSS to celebrate Wish Week! We will be providing all our teachers and staff with t-shirts to wear during the spirit week, and we are asking our parents to provide a $10 donation per student, to cover the cost if they are able. We are looking forward to all the great activities our Crews are putting together for this cause, and thank you for your generosity! Donate HERE.

NEW! Community Involvement Opportunities!:
Registration is now open for Stone Canyon Summer Camp! Both Overnight and Day Camps are accepting registrants.

 

Stone Canyon offers a wide variety of activities, and our dedicated staff is committed to ensuring your camper will learn new skills, make new friends, and be safe while at camp. Our goal is to create a community that will help campers become more confident and daring individuals, all while having the best time of their lives!

 

In the last year and a half, Stone Canyon has built a brand new ropes course and completed an expansion of our dining hall and kitchen. We are so excited for campers to experience them this summer. While we have made adjustments to our programming to follow national and local COVID mitigation guidelines, we aim to provide the same connection and adventure that make our summer camp special.

Cost

One week of Overnight Camp is $1,075, with a deposit of $325. One week of Day Camp is $435, with a deposit of $135.

Important  Dates: NEW!  A Note from Ms. Trena: Dear REMS Parents,  It was a privilege to celebrate our Visual Arts students this week at R enaissance . We packed the house on Wednesday evening for our annual  REMS Art Walk.  I appreciated seeing so many families come out to celebrate our students and  the many talents of  Ms. Staci  in fostering  students'  creative passions!  I also hope that you all had the opportunity to go out and visit the  Legacy Campus  this week to see our student's artwork on display at the DCSD Art Show. Our students truly represented CREW in their reflective pieces of our core values!  Will P. won Best in Show for Grades 4th-6th Ollie R. won 3rd place for Grades K-3rd Olivia S. received an Honorable Mention for Grades K-3rd  National Archery Shoutouts: Beau B. and Khaison B. competed in the National Archery Tournament in Utah last weekend.
