THANK YOU!

From all of us, to all of you: THANK YOU for all the treats and gifts you showered us with this week. A special thank you to Bri and Lindsey and Parent Crew for the Supply Shop!

Congratulations to all the DCSD Art Show Award Winners!:

Notes from Ms. Trena:

Showcase of Learning:
Showcases of Learning will be held on May 11th for 3rd grade and May 25th for 6th grade from 1:15-4:15pm.  We would love to invite our parents and community members to volunteer as panelists.   Please feel free to use the Sign-up Genius to commit to a spot! We will be reaching out to those who volunteer on next steps.  Remember that parents should refrain from volunteering at your own child's showcase.

Student-led Conferences:
Student-led Conferences will be held on Wednesday, May 18th in Grades 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades to share their learning and celebration for the year.  Kindergarten will hold their conferences on May 31st.
Classroom teachers will be reaching out to families to schedule times to meet with students/families.  The Showcase of Learning for 3rd and 6th grades will serve as their individual student-led conference.

Class Lists for 2022-23
Teachers, Specialists and Administration will be creating class lists for the upcoming 2022-23 school year. We make many considerations such as academics, social/emotional needs, leadership, behavior, and personality of students and teachers to ensure proper placement. It is also a challenge to mix the kids up from year to year as we only have two classes of each grade level.

If you have programming needs (IEP, 504, GT, etc...) that you wish to bring to our attention, we ask that you email those to their teacher and myself.  Please refrain from requesting a particular teacher and instead offer us specific information about your student that will help us with placement.

Note from Ms. Staci:

JOIN US as Renaissance Expeditionary Magnet School celebrates all of our young artists at the 2021-22 ARTWALK. This is an opportunity for students to show off all of their works of art in a museum style setting. We will also have a special inclusive art exhibit this year (inspired by Meow Wolf). Students have also been working hard on Artist Trading Cards to exchange at the event.

News from Our Crews:

Looking to get your garden started? The Eco-Warriors are here to help! The community seed swap is available. If you are able, please consider leaving a donation in the "donation can" or drop it by the front office. The stands will be out front of the building during morning drop-off and dismissal (depending on weather).

Seed starter  & plant sale on May 18th 12:30-2:30.   All funds collected are used to support sustainability initiatives. A huge shout-out and thank you to Ms. Marla and our community partners at CALF's Lowell Ranch.

News from SAC:

Join the School Accountability Committee (SAC)! What's the difference between Parent Crew Board and SAC?  While Parent Crew helps with fundraising and support of many of the REMS 'extras', the SAC advises on many of the specific operational decisions here at REMS, including Academic Performance and Safety issues! To learn more or nominate yourself, email: RemsSacChair@gmail.com.  Nominations are open through May 7th.

Community Involvement Opportunities!:
Registration is now open for Stone Canyon Summer Camp! Both Overnight and Day Camps are accepting registrants.

Stone Canyon offers a wide variety of activities, and our dedicated staff is committed to ensuring your camper will learn new skills, make new friends, and be safe while at camp. Our goal is to create a community that will help campers become more confident and daring individuals, all while having the best time of their lives!

In the last year and a half, Stone Canyon has built a brand new ropes course and completed an expansion of our dining hall and kitchen. We are so excited for campers to experience them this summer. While we have made adjustments to our programming to follow national and local COVID mitigation guidelines, we aim to provide the same connection and adventure that make our summer camp special.
