Notes from Ms. Trena:
Our Renaissance staff had an enlightening opportunity during our Wednesday Professional Development to learn about Neuroscience, Experience and Trust from Jolee Jones, the Director of Stone Canyon. We had a great lesson on the importance of mental wellness and our connections to the natural world around us. This learning opportunity solidified the work that we continuously do with our students to prepare, attend, and reflect upon on their voyages. It is not easy task for our teachers and yet it is the most rewarding opportunity for our entire community of learners. For REMS, voyages signify the importance of getting out in the natural world and moving our bodies, yet also serving as a responsible citizen contributing to a better world. Thank you to all of our teachers, Adventure Education staff, and support staff for a successful Winter Voyage season! We also appreciate our parent community for your continued support in trusting us with your children and embracing the mission and vision of Renaissance!
Parents: We will be temporarily pausing bringing extra sports equipment to recess, including hockey sticks, scooters, bicycles, skateboards, etc..., for safety concerns. Once we have our blacktop pavement repaired, we will reopen the opportunity to bring sport equipment. Thank you.
Spring Break: We will closed from March 14-28th.

CMAS Reminder:
CMAS- Save the Dates (3rd-6th grade only)
This year's CMAS testing will occur from April 4-14, 2022. Please check the State Assessment tab on our website for schedules and other important information regarding the testing time. If you plan to opt your student out of CMAS, you will find the CMAS Excusal form linked there as well. Please be advised that students who are opted out will need to remain at home during testing hours.
News from our Parent Crew!:
Make an additional donation to the school along with any in-person or virtual early bird ticket purchase now through March 15, 2022. The donor with the highest donation will win a pair of tickets to see the hit Broadway musical, Hamilton! Tickets are for the 8:00pm show on Saturday, March 26th at the Buell Theater in Denver. The seats are AMAZING!

If you're still looking for ways to get involved, especially for families who work during the school day, please reach out to the Renaissance Auction committee who need anything from sponsorships to phone calls & emails made, and more! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, without which we cannot sustain the levels of support around our building and continue to supplement voyage costs!
There are also lots of little ways to support REMS that are deeply appreciated, with Staff Appreciation, Car Line support, and planning Student Showcase celebrations. (See a list of many opportunities here.)
